The potential of M&A for unlocking the growth potential within brokers was one of the main talking points when we sat down with a panel comprised of Howden Group head of M&A Peter Blanc, Ardonagh Advisory chief commercial officer Phil Bayles and JMG Group chief executive Nick Houghton.
And despite talks of a slowdown in M&A volumes as we move through 2023, our panel were optimistic that deals would continue to progress at pace, even if valuations don't quite hit the heady heights seen in 2022.
The panel also discussed the challenges and opportunities facing brokers, including the rising regulatory burden, the difficulty of placing complex risks and the potential for growth in the broking market, with the full session available to watch below.
