AEGIS wins gold for Syndicate 1225

The syndicate is one of seven to be recognised with a 2025 Gold Award

Our latest research has named Syndicate 1225 as the best performing Lloyd’s Syndicate after an analysis of the Syndicate Accounts of the non-life operations at Lloyd’s.

The AEGIS-managed syndicate earned an Underwriting Rating of 74% as it secured its second Gold Award in three years having also won Gold in 2023.

Based on our proprietary formula, devised specifically for this research, Insurance DataLab rates syndicates across three key pillars – underwriting result, three-year aggregate underwriting result, and improvement in the underwriting over the last 12 months – with the top performers all receiving an Insurance DataLab Gold Award.

Syndicate 1225 is joined on the list of top performers by two Lancashire-managed Syndicates, 3010 and 2010 (both scoring 74%), last year’s top-ranking Beazley Furlonge-managed Syndicate 2623 (72%), Asta-managed Syndicate 1988, IQUW-managed Syndicate 218, and Markel-managed Syndicate 3000 (all scoring 72%) – with Markel’s Syndicate 3000 winning Gold for the second year in a row.

These ratings come after a strong performance across the Lloyd’s market as the aggregate underwriting result rose to almost £3bn across all non-life syndicates, up from £2.8bn the previous year.
